EMULATOR REVIEW UPDATE - WinSTon v0.2r2

Rob now looks at a new version of new ST emulator WinSTon. It's a new featire where when a previously reviewed emulator is updated, then so is the review. It isn't long but it is here. So there.

Takes you back dunnit?!

A new update to WinSTon has been released fuelling by enjoyment of ST games even more. The important features are a handy new fullscreen Vblank timing function which is the main selling point for me on this one. ST demos and intros are now a gloriously smooth 60hz (or 50hz if you tweak using a display editor) and scrolltexts are readable! Other bugs have been fixed and more of my disk images seemed to work than before.

Graphics have been improved and Spectrum 512 pictures (a special interlaced colour graphics hack to display 512 colours onscreen) no almost work (just a bit flickery). There is still no sampled sound yet but as PacifiSTs was a bit warbly this will soon appear I'm sure. I hope this release so soon after the last version means that the promised features will be implemented.

8/10 No advance in the mark but it has improved. Still get PacifiST as well but this is starting to overtake!
