Happy Birthday Phil for last Thursday and a damn good night out in Newport was had! Hi to
Lauren, Richard, Dan, Phil, Ian, Cath, Vicky and Andy who were all out that night. See you all soon!

KARAOKE KING!!!

I had to go to the Greenhouse Karaoke Competition 2004 final on Sunday. And what a night!

The competition was pretty damn stiff. Everyone in the final had won on a previous night and there
wasn't a dodgy singer amongst them. The girl I thought was gonna win sang brilliantly. I genuinly
didn't think I'd win but it was a darn good laugh!

I got there at 4 and the competition started at 5. I was the last-but-one singer to go on at 8:50! I
dressed as Ozzy Osbourne and did Paranoid with the full "Sharon!" shenanigans. I looked up at
one point and everyone in the pub had come round to watch - even the ones in the beer garden.
Luckily when you do Ozzy you can stagger about and stare at the floor which was handy! I got the
biggest cheer I've heard in a pub and glanced over and the judges (there was a panel of four -
very Pop Idol) were cheering too! They announced me as the winner at around 9:30 and the whole place erupted! I nearly died!

I then sang Space Oddity and got the whole pub doing a floaty dance during it! It was a brilliant
night anyway - but even better cos I won! Being announced as the winner was scarier than the
getting up and singing!

The prize is my height in crates of beer! They measured me on Sunday, 6 feet!

Hi to the following people I remember being there: Mum, Dad, Lianne, Dan, Antony, Laura, Chris,
Dave, Carrie, Clare, Clare, Clare (There were several!), Alexa, Gareth, Gemma, Debbie, Ron,
Kaye, Allan, Ellie, Hayley, Gary, Lorna, Kelly, and all the others I've forgot about. I was very drunk!

Beer and music rule! I collect my prize(s?) tonight.
